NEW CELLARS in Review!! BDX, BURG, CA....
A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked the stock boy, 'Do these turkeys get any bigger?' The stock boy answered, 'No ma'am, they're dead.'
Sorry - it's the day before Thanksgiving, the office is half-empty, the weather is cool and holiday-ish, I'm cranking some Old Crow Medicine Show and a bit of Jimmy Cliff; I couldn't help myself. HOWEVER --- there is work to be done, namely answering your calls calls for "What's left of that cellar you did a few weeks ago?"
Here you are. TONS of amazing stuff, actually. All in stock and READY TO SHIP next week! Best prices anywhere, of course!!
1989 HAUT-BRION $1295 WA100, WS100
Rated 100 points by the Wine Spectator: `Fabulous aromas of raspberries, minerals, tobaccco, chocolate. Complex. Full-bodied, with big velvety tannins but elegant and fabulous. Wonderful sweetness. Goes on and on. This has been 100 points since I first tasted it in barrel. It may age forever, but so good now. Love it. `89/`90 Bordeaux non-blind horizontal. Drink now. (JS)`
1982 MAGDELAINE (ST. EMILION) $189 WS96
Rated 96 points by the Wine Spectator: `This has always been a gorgeous, sexy wine. Dark ruby-colored, with a slight garnet rim. Full-bodied, with loads of sweet fruit flavors and a lovely, long aftertaste of fresh fruit, floral, earth character.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal. Drink now. (JS)`
1987 CAYMUS SPECIAL SELECTION $155! WS98!
Rated 98 points by the Wine Spectator: `A smashing wine, following in the wake of the great ones in 1984, `85 and `86. Bursting with cherry, plum and prune flavors. Coffee, anise, cedar and tea notes sneak in on the long, complex finish. Intense, but gentle, with tannins rapidly smoothing to a velvety texture. Almost drinkable now. Best from 1996 through 2000. 4,000 cases made.`
