At $29.95 on 6 or more (by far the best anywhere), this is a one-of-a-kind, juicy, luscious Grenache from the wine-making juggernaut Michael Browne. 275 measly cases made, from a Grenache noir clone taken from Chateau Beacastel! Jemrose is a relatively new project, with the vision and resources to do everything first class. The story is that Michael Browne wanted to make Rhone varietals and became captivated by this location. The crazy thing is, they are keeping the prices terrifically moderate, which we love, considering the pedigree and wine-making talent. Hey, I'm not arguing - just jump on this train while it's in the station! Although this wine is not what I'd call "Chateauneuf-ish", it's nevertheless straight-up delicious - fascinating, complex, and sensationally different.
