What our
status categories mean:
In
stock: This denotes
a wine that is physically in our warehouse, ready at a moments notice for
shipping or pickup.
In Transit: this denotes a
wine we have purchased and is on the way to us. Typically this means a
refrigerated truck has been scheduled and the wine is enroute. We always make a
point to give you our best estimate of arrival time in the wine description. It
also denotes wines that are “readily available” from our local
distributors/brokers.
Pre-arrival: this
denotes wines that are available to us from our top suppliers. When you inquire
about a pre-arrival wine, we contact our supplier to ensure the wine is still
available, then contact you for order confirmation, payment, and expected
delivery time. The order is then placed at the supplier and arrangements to ship
the wine are made.
v
All
orders, regardless of status, must be paid in full at the time of
ordering/confirmation unless otherwise specifically noted.
Legal
words:
v
By placing an
order with Blicker-Pierce Wine Merchants, you assert that you are 21 years of
age or more. You are responsible for understanding the laws regarding alcohol
shipments in your state.
v
Any wine sold to you by BPWM is sold in California, and title
passes to you, the buyer, in California.
v
All orders being delivered to a California address will be
charged 7.75% sales tax at the time of the order.
Return
Policy
BPWM
generally cannot accept returns of wine in your possession longer than 9 months, as we
have no way of knowing your specific storage conditions. We hope you understand.
BPWM
guarantees the excellent provenance of the wine it sells. We will happily
return, refund, credit, or exchange bottles that suffer from the following
conditions:
v
“Cooked” wine or
wine that is clearly showing signs of improper storage. Ideally we will ask for
a partial bottle sent back to us.
v
Wine that is
leaking on arrival.
v
Incorrect
fulfillment (wrong vintage, etc.)
v
Shipping problems
that are clearly the fault of the shipper or BPWM.
v
Wines with
conditions not noted (torn labels, etc.)
Please note: None of these should happen!
We generally
do not accept wine for return that is “corked” (this is a matter that is
100% out of our control and is an issue to take up with the winery) if the wine is older than 1 year from its release date, or wine that
you simply don’t like. That said, tell us why and we’ll probably offer you a
spirited debate and something to make you feel better.
BPWM reserves the right to hold all wine shipments at our discretion for weather-related issues. We may require written proof of shipping authorizations if it goes against our recommendations. This is done solely in the interest of your wine and its health!
