It's Napa Valley Premiere time here in the Valley, and for the next few days I'll be running into the Buoncristiani brothers at various tasting events over and over. These four brothers began humbly in the their father's garage under his tutelage, and in the late 90s got serious, almost instantly garnering high scores and critical acclaim. They are also just great guys, passionate winemakers and artists, and they keep it real - even when it comes to their 96-POINT Cabernet!
I can't recommend this one more highly --- it is a classic, powerful 2014 vintage, balanced, rich, intense and loaded with flavor. Boysenberry jam, tobacco, toast and dark cocoa rule the roost, and it is immensely satisfying and long. WE HAVE ONLY 10 CASES TO SELL!
2014 BUONCRISTIANI CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY -- $109!! WA96!!
Plenty of $200+ 96 point (or less) Cabs out there!!
WA96: "Their 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Malbec (437 cases), is a stunner. Super-opaque purple in color, this cuvee is provocative and world-class. Inky purple in color, with creme de cassis, blackberry, espresso, graphite and a touch of oak, the wine is full-bodied, extremely rich and pure with wonderfully integrated acidity, tannin and alcohol. The finish goes on for 50+ seconds. This is a killer wine and a great 2014 that is capable of lasting 25-30 or more years for those with patience."
Arrives one week! While it lasts...!
