Appellation: Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara
Rated 90 points by Stephen Tanzer`s International Wine Cellar: (a blend of syrah, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, sangiovese, petit verdot and viognier, for those keeping score at home) Bright ruby. Intensely perfumed nose offers cherry, fresh herbs, dried lavender and cured tobacco. Chewy red and dark berry flavors stain the palate, with dusty tannins adding grip. The tobacco note repeats strongly on the finish, which is pure and long. This is drinking well right now.
