Blackbird Vineyards Proprietary Red Paramour 2007, 750mL (JS93, WA93+) from The BPW - Merchants of rare and fine wines.

Blackbird Vineyards Proprietary Red Paramour

750mL

Vintage: 2007
Region: US
Appellation: Oak Knoll, Napa

JS93, WA93+
Rated 93+ points by Robert Parker`s Wine Advocate: `A sensational effort, the 2007 Paramour reveals the most saturated purple color of any of these wines. A blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, it possesses abundant notes of graphite, ink, spicy oak, creme de cassis, plums, and licorice. Impressively built, full-bodied, and exceptionally concentrated with an intriguing underlying minerality, it needs 3-4 years of cellaring, and will drink well over the following two decades.` -- Robert Parker in the Wine AdvocateAdditional Notes from the Wine Advocate: `This impressive portfolio was assembled by winemaker Aaron Pott and consulting winemaker Sarah Gott (her husband owns the incredibly successful fast-food chain of Taylor`s Refresher in San Francisco, Napa, and St. Helena - which makes the best cheeseburger and Ahi burger in the land). All of these offerings reveal beautiful balance, suppleness, and intensity. Production runs between 200-300 cases for most of the cuvees, with the Illustration maxing out at 1,200 cases. Blackbird`s mission statement is to make artisanal, Pomerol-inspired wines from Napa Valley, and they appear to be succeeding. The estate vineyard is in the Oak Knoll district, which is well-known for deep, loamy, gravelly soils.`
