Viticcio Chianti Classico Riserva 2009, 1.5L (JS94) from The BPW - Merchants of rare and fine wines.

Viticcio Chianti Classico Riserva

1.5L

Vintage: 2009
Region: Italy
Appellation: Chianti Classico

Staff Notes:
Connie Wilson, bookkeeper says: One can never have too many magnums in their cellar, however small or modest.  The 2009 Viticcio Chianti Classico Riserve 1.5 liter is a bargain at $49.00, with a James Suckling score of 94 points.  I just had this wine for my birthday and it was delicious, especially with the Italian cheeses and salume that BPWine prepared for my celebration.  Chianti and chocolate cake – buonissimo!

Check out the website of Fattoria Viticcio in the hills above Greve in Chianti in Tuscany (http://www.fattoriaviticcio.com/ ).  The Landini family is deeply attached to Tuscan wine-making tradition, Chianti soil and its products, and they also offer farm accommodation (agriturismo) on their beautiful estate.  What better way to experience Chianti than staying on a working farm and enjoying its bounties!

JS94
Rated 94 points by James Suckling: `Blueberry and fresh mushrooms with hints of flowers on the nose. Full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a beautiful finish. This is a joy to taste. Drink now.`
