Stefan Blicker, owner says: This is the tasting room up at Ridge Vineyards in Santa Cruz, at Monte Bello. Hallowed ground....I almost took a job up there back in 1999. I got a private tour from Paul Draper and we sat in the employee break room drinking a 1986 Ridge Petite Sirah as part of my interview. I was utterly blown away. Anyway, it just added to my admiration and unabashed love of what they do at Ridge - and Geyserville has always been my personal favorite. This 2012 "Geezer" is one of the finest in their long, storied history. GET SOME. It is California Zinfandel and "field blend" old-vine history in a glass!!!
Rated 92-94 points by Antonio Galloni in Vinous: `The 2012 Zinfandel Geyserville is drop-dead gorgeous. Dark and fleshy, yet backed up by significant structure, the 2012 impresses for its pure polish and finesse. Raspberry jam, flowers, cloves and menthol wrap around the juicy, expressive finish. The 2012 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. Wow! The blend is 70% Zinfandel, 21% Carignane, 7% Petite Sirah, 1% Alicante Bouschet and 1% Mataro (Mourvedre).`
