Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard 2015, (VN94-97, JD95, WS94) from The BPW - Merchants of rare and fine wines.

Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard

Vintage: 2015
Region: US
Appellation: Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara

VN94-97, JD95, WS94
Rated 94-97 points by Vinous: "Another highlight, the 2015 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard brings together so many of the elements that make Tensley`s Syrahs so compelling. Intense in its aromatics and palate feel, the 2015 hits all the right notes. Sweet red cherry, rose petal, raspberry jam and a dollop of French oak are some of the signatures. Because of the low yields, the new oak is a bit high in 2015, but all the elements are very nicely married. The Colson Canyon is shaping up to be another gem from Joey Tensley." -- Antonio Galloni in VINOUS, September 2016

JD95: "The 2015 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard is a straight up, beast of a Syrah. Its glass staining purple color is followed by a smorgasbord of Syrah goodness; blackberry jam, plums, exotic flowers, hints of tapenade, scrub brush and violets all literally soar from the glass. This gives way to a full-bodied, unctuous, and concentrated 2015 that has sweet tannin, notable freshness and a great finish. It’s primary and incredibly un-evolved, and needs 2-3 years of cellaring, yet is a sensational wine."
