Appellation: Contra Costa
Rated 90 points by Stephen Tanzer`s International Wine Cellar: Deep red. Peppery, slightly high-toned aromas of raspberry and nutty oak, with hints of exotic fruits. Supple on entry, then rather closed in the middle, with a distinctive flavor of fruity peppercorn. Finishes dry-edged and pungent. An intriguing style, but not for those who expect a mouthful of fresh berries from their zinfandels.
