WS91: "Fleshy and inviting, with a juicy core of bramble, raspberry and plum backed by cassis bush, clove and mesquite notes. Features a fine-grained finish, with the fruit and wood almost melded together. Should benefit from mid-term cellaring. Best from 2014 through 2024." –JM
Neal Martin's Wine Journal 91-93 PointsTasted at the Syndicat de Pomerol. The nose on the Chateau Taillefer is a little subdued at first, but comes out of its shell with notes of dark cherry, boysenberry, a touch of oyster shell and violets. The palate is full-bodied with firm, silky tannins, very good balance and definition with a very harmonious, quite powerful finish. Great length and composure, this is an assured Pomerol from Catherine Moueix in the southern corner of the commune. Tasted April 2011.
