Coral Mika, Imports Manager says: It is time to start stocking up on bubbly. For me, this is a year-round love affair so I am always on the lookout for good buys and in general, great bubbles. I tend toward the drier style of sparkling so when I saw that we had gotten some of this zero dosage Champagne I did not hesitate. The less sugar the more you can really taste the wine underneath the masterpiece and enjoy the crisp loveliness. $32.95 would be a steal but at $29.95 on 6 or more this is a must. Did I mention the 90 points from Burghound? These are now in-stock and ready to ship shortly when the weather cools off!
$29.95 when you buy 6 or more!! $180 a 6-pack!
Rated 90 points by the Burghound: "(40% pinot noir, 40% chardonnay and 20% pinot meunier, SRP $50). This is also notably elegant and pure with notes of green apple, Meyer lemon, rose petal and a whiff of freshly baked bread. There is moderate effervescence present on the clean and crisp finish that is quite dry though it stops short of being bone dry. I like the style and the delivery though one wishes for a bit more overall depth though it's possible that more will develop as this isn't quite yet ready for prime time."
More information from the Burghound: `In 1860 Edmond de Ayala received the Chateau of Ay as well as prime vineyards as part of a dowry upon his wedding. In 1882, Ayala was one of the 18 founding members of the Syndicate of the Grandes Marques. Ayala was purchased by Societe Jacques Bollinger in 2005. Nicolas Klym has been the cellar master for over 25 years.`
