Chateau de Puligny Montrachet Meursault les Perrieres 2009, 750mL (BH91, ST91+) from The BPW - Merchants of rare and fine wines.

Chateau de Puligny Montrachet Meursault les Perrieres

750mL

Vintage: 2009
Region: France--Burgundy--White
Appellation: Meursault, Cote de Beaune

BH91, ST91+
Rated 91 points by the Burghound: `(from a .44 ha parcel of 40+ year old vines). Moderate reduction suppresses the expressiveness of the mildly oaky nose though the rich, pure, refined and focused flavors exude all of the minerality that one would typically expect from a fine Perrieres and it continues onto the sappy, moderately complex and persistent finale. This may develop more depth with bottle age as there is good underlying material.`Additional notes from the Burghound: `Etienne de Montille of Domaine de Montille (see above) is the regisseur of this old Domaine. Please see Domaine de Montille (above) for more vintage specific comments. I asked de Montille what his policy was regarding his targeted level of free SO2 at bottling and he indicated between 40 and 50 ppm. Note that these ?09s had just been bottled at the time of my February visit.`
