Saxum Proprietary Red Paderewski Vineyard 2011, 750mL (AG93-95, WA94-96, ST94) from The BPW - Merchants of rare and fine wines.

Saxum Proprietary Red Paderewski Vineyard

750mL

Vintage: 2011
Region: US
Appellation: Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo

AG93-95, WA94-96, ST94
Rated 94-96 points by the Wine Advocate: `Much more sexy and voluptuous, the 2011 Paderewski Vineyard (34% Zinfandel, 31% Mourvedre, 16% Tempranillo, 10% Syrah and 9% Petite Sirah) delivers loads of black and blue fruits, spice, incense, chocolate and pan dripping-like savoriness to go with a full-bodied, decadently styled mouthfeel. Showing chalky minerality on the finish, it`s a complex 2011 that should be reasonably approachable on release and have 12-15 years of overall longevity. Drink 2014-2026.?` -- Jeb Dunnuck in Issue #208 of the Wine AdvocateMore information about this producer: `Proprietor Justin Smith continues to fashion some of the most distinctive and impressive efforts coming out of California today and despite an ever increasing level of notoriety and well deserved praise, he remains incredibly humble and down to earth. While the cooler nature of the 2010 and 2011 vintages show in the wine, there`s been a trend here to pull back slightly on the ripeness and oak regime, with an increasing reliance on concrete, whole cluster and larger format barrels. These cooler vintages have also favored the Syrah heavy blends in the lineup, with the Broken Stones, Booker and Bone Rock showing an added dimension. Nevertheless, you can`t go wrong here and this is one mailing list you do not want to miss!`
