By placing an order on BPW's website, you submit that you are 21 years of age or older, and that you understand and agree to the Alcohol Beverage Control laws in your state.

All orders, regardless of status, must be paid in full at the time of ordering/confirmation unless otherwise specifically noted.

Shipping Info

*We automatically insure all shipments for a maximum of $500. If you would like EXTRA shipping INSURANCE, please notify us at the time of your order or BEFORE we ship your wine. Insurance above $500 will average around .50 cents per $100. If you choose not to insure your package, we cannot be responsible for breakage, loss, or theft. However, these incidents, if they occur, will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

** WEATHER ALERT ** Due to hot temperatures in summer months, and freezing temperatures in winter months, we reserve the right to delay or hold shipments at our discretion to protect your wine from damage. This is particularly true for most UPS Ground shipments, which you are charged for at the time of your order unless other service is requested. Please NOTIFY US immediately if you would like faster (and more expensive) air service or if you would like to override the HOLD status at your own risk and we will happily make shipping arrangements. Please email shipping@bpwine.com or simply call (707) 967-0240 . We cannot be responsible for damaged wine due to acts of nature or shipping in less than ideal conditions (heat or cold) against our recommendations. Air shipping is ALWAYS recommended over ground shipping, excluding the Bay Area.

What our status categories mean:

In stock: This denotes a wine that is physically in our warehouse, ready at a moments notice for shipping or pickup.

Prerelease: This denotes wines that are purchased and arriving within a short time frame, typically 1-3 weeks.

In Transit: This typically denotes a wine we have purchased FROM EUROPE and is on the way to us. We always make a point to give you our best estimate of arrival time in the wine description. It also denotes wines that are “readily available” from our local distributors/brokers. For questions regarding timing of ”In Transit” wines, please email Coral Mika at coral@bpwine.com

All orders, regardless of status, must be paid in full at the time of ordering/confirmation unless otherwise specifically noted.

Legal words

By placing an order with BPW, you assert that you are 21 years of age or more. You are responsible for understanding the laws regarding alcohol shipments in your state.

Any wine sold to you by BPW is sold in California, and title passes to you, the buyer, in California.

All orders being delivered to a California address will be charged 8% sales tax at the time of the order.

Cancellation Policy

There is a 10% restocking fee for all cancelled orders. This includes PRE-ARRIVAL, IN TRANSIT and IN STOCK orders.

Return Policy

BPW generally cannot accept returns of wine in your possession longer than 6 months, as we have no way of knowing your specific storage conditions. We hope you understand. We will, however, review this on a case by case basis.

BPW guarantees the excellent provenance of the wine it sells. We will happily return, refund, credit, or exchange bottles that suffer from the following conditions:

“Cooked” wine or wine that is clearly showing signs of improper storage. Ideally we will ask for a partial bottle sent back to us.

Wine that is leaking on arrival.

Incorrect fulfillment (wrong vintage, etc.)

Shipping problems that are clearly the fault of the shipper or BPW.

Wines with conditions not noted (torn labels, etc.)

Please note: None of these should happen!

CORKED Wine (TCA tainted)

We generally do not accept wine for return that is “corked” (this is a matter that is 100% out of our control and is an issue to take up with the winery), if the wine is older than 1 year from its release date, or wine that you simply don’t like. That said, tell us why and we’ll probably offer you a spirited debate and something to make you feel better.

BPW reserves the right to hold all wine shipments at our discretion for weather-related issues. We may require written proof of shipping authorizations if it goes against our recommendations. This is done solely in the interest of your wine and its health!
